Surveillance video captures violent armed robbery at Weymouth gas station

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — A brutal attack was caught on camera in Weymouth. Police say they're looking for three men who ambushed a gas station clerk and robbed him at gunpoint.

The store manager exclusively showed Boston 25 News surveillance video Thursday afternoon of three men walking into the gas station on Route 18 in Weymouth around 3:30 Thursday morning. One of the men sneaks up behind the clerk, holding a gun to his back.

Then, the clerk tried to fight them off, suffering blows to the head from the gun that left him bleeding.

After about five minutes the suspects ran north on Main Street and the clerk was finally able to call police. It's unclear if a vehicle was involved.

Police say the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspects are described as three Hispanic men. One was wearing a red jacket with a blue backpack, the second had a black jacket, grey sweatpants, a baseball hat, and white socks, and the third suspect was wearing a black puffy jacket, sandals with socks and a black baseball hat with a red, white, and blue brim.

Manager Abe Nassif tells us it's been a few years since they've been robbed, though never this violent. Nassif says they are they only 24-hour store open in the area, but now he's going to ask the town if they can keep the store closed from midnight to 5 a.m. for safety reasons, while they keep the gas pumps open for self-service.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Weymouth Police.
