Sudbury Police warn residents after dog dies from suspected coyote attack

The Sudbury Police Department is warning residents after a dog died from a suspected coyote attack.

The department said a Powers Road resident reported their dog had been attacked by an animal around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.

The resident said they felt the attack possibly come from a coyote, and responding officers were unable to find the animal that was responsible.

The dog was taken to the veterinary hospital, where he had to be humanely euthanized.

Police are warning residents about the incident to ensure the safety of children and other animals, and said to be careful watching any animals late in the evening and early in the morning when coyotes are more active.
