AUBURN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - State Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 2-year-old last month in Auburn while in the care of her foster mother.
Ava Conway-Coxon died on Aug. 15 after she was found unresponsive. Her 22-month-old sister was also hospitalized on that date in critical condition and remains in DCF custody.
“This is a death investigation,” Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said. “The completion of the autopsy, particularly the cause and manner of death, will go a long way toward answering questions about what happened to this little girl.”

The foster mother, Kimberly L. Malpass, has been cooperating with police and does not face any charges.
Since Ava's, death her biological mother Jessica Conway died of an apparent drug overdose.
