Six people escape after Brockton house fire started by unattended candle

Six people escaped a home after a fire broke out in Brockton, officials said.

Fire officials say an unattended candle started the fire that damaged the Alger Street home Sunday morning.

Flames burned through the first floor and caused smoke and heat damage upstairs, and six people were inside when the fire was burning.
