17 children among 21 people taken to hospital in 3-vehicle crash in NH

SALEM, N.H. — Salem Police and Fire are on scene of a 3-vehicle crash involving a school bus.

The fire department told Boston 25 News they got a call at 10:13 a.m. for reports of a 3-vehicle crash with injury at Route 28 and Lake Street.

Officials on scene tell us more than 40 campers and counselors were on the bus. Twenty-one people, 17 elementary-aged kids and four adults, were taken to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries. Everyone is expected to be OK.

Sky25 flew over the scene and saw a school bus, dump truck, and pickup truck involved in the crash.

Police are looking into whether there were any mechanical issues on the dump truck as it appears to have been the first vehicle in the chain-reaction crash.
