R.I. Police investigating after two portable toilets explode

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Police in Rhode Island are currently searching for suspects after two portable toilets exploded.

In a news release, police said both incidents happened on Aug. 17 in Charlestown and Westerly.

Officials said the incidents involved explosive devices that were detonated inside the portable toilets.

While police assure the public there is no indication these incidents are linked to any form of terrorism, they are actively investigating the matter.

Anyone with information is asked to call the state bomb squad hotline at 401-383-7723.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead to any arrests in connection to this case.
