Rhode Island U.S. Attorney Aaron Weisman says federal search warrants were executed Tuesday by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and 11 people are in custody.
More than 500 grams of fentanyl and two firearms were seized. Another 600 grams of fentanyl, fentanyl pills and other drugs were seized previously during the investigation.
Weisman says Operation Bloodline began in June when the task force learned of a drug broker in Central Falls and his supplier in Providence.
Weisman says the alleged supplier, 39-year-old Rafael Ferrer, of Providence, and members of his family are among those charged.
It's unclear whether Ferrer is represented by an attorney who could comment.
