Marie Bernardo-Sousa has served as senior vice president of administration and enrollment management at Johnson & Wales since 2014. The Providence Journal reports she replaces former campus president Mim Runey, who was named chancellor of Johnson & Wales' four campuses last summer.
Bernardo-Sousa lives in Seekonk and grew up in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and first came to the school as an undergraduate, earning a bachelor of science degree in marketing in 1992. She has also earned a doctorate in law and policy from Northeastern University.
She said in a statement that she looks forward to leading the school and guiding it through the university's ongoing strategic plan.
