Coventry police say they responded to reports of a crash on Hope Furnace Road just before 1 a.m. Friday.
The operator and the passenger on the ATV were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and the operator died there of his injuries.
Police say the crash remains under investigation and did not immediately release any names.
