DENNIS, Mass. — Local and state officials have resumed a search for a possible missing swimmer at Scargo Lake in Dennis.
Dennis Police told Boston 25 News they were called to Scargo Lake Tuesday afternoon around 3:45 for a reported missing swimmer. The Mass State Police Air Wing was also called in for the search.

After a few hours of searching the deep, murky water, the search was suspended for the night.
Officials resumed the search Wednesday morning.
Due to the ongoing search operations at Scargo Lake, Princess Beach will be closed until further notice. We will post an update when the beach is re-opened.

State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said Tuesday night that the report was unconfirmed and was launched after a person who lives in a home on the lake told police they spotted a person swimming and then failed to see them again.
