Recycling truck catches fire, damages homes and cars

FALL RIVER, Mass. — A Waste Management truck caught on fire Tuesday morning, with billowing flames spreading to nearby homes and two parked vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to Hunter and William streets just after 9 a.m. after receiving an emergency call reporting the truck fire.

When crews arrived, they found the truck fully engulfed by flames. The truck is powered by natural gas, was a total loss, a fire official said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
