Quaboag students to finally start school on Monday

WEST BROOKFIELD, Mass. — The school year will finally get underway for Quaboag Regional Middle High School (ORMHS) students on Monday, September 17, according to Superintendent Brett Kustigian.

Classes will be held in the gym, which remains unaffected from the ongoing mold issue. Principal Stephen Duff will provide an overview and teachers will pass out textbooks and course outlines. Students in grades seven through twelve will arrive at the normal time and all students will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m. No breakfast or lunch will be served.

QRMHS students will report to Converse Middle School in Palmer on Tuesday, September 18.

The administration is working with the Town of Palmer to organize an open house at Converse Middle School Monday evening.

Kustigian said additional resources and an increased labor force are coming to QRMHS to expedite the mold remediation process. The district has also contracted a certified industrial hygienist to provide additional testing to ensure the safety of students and staff.
