Police seeking suspect in armed carjacking in Salem, NH

SALEM, N.H. — Police in Salem, New Hampshire are continuing to investigate a carjacking that was first reported last Saturday.

According to Salem Police, the incident happened at the intersection of Route 28 and Kelly Road when a man approached a woman in a black Honda-CRV and carjacked her at gun point.

Police said the man forced the woman onto the passenger seat and drove off. The suspect said something about shooting and killing his sister to the victim as they drove off, according to police. However they have not heard of a homicide related to this incident yet.

It wasn't until the suspect and the woman were in Methuen, which is about six miles from Salem, when the woman jumped out of the car at a red light.

Police said the man had the handgun pointed towards the woman in his lap the entire time while driving.

Police later found the car in Lawrence after tracking the woman’s cell phone that was left in the car.

They are still looking for the suspect and warn that he could be armed and dangerous.

This is a developing story. We will update it as more information becomes available.
