• Police seek help finding car in connection with South Boston hit-and-run

BOSTON - Police are searching for the driver of a car that allegedly hit a pedestrian, seriously injuring her, and then left the scene Monday in South Boston.

State Police say a 60-year-old woman was hit while walking in the crosswalk as she crossed Day Boulevard near K Street Monday morning. The driver of the car that hit the woman did not stay at the scene and took off towards L Street.

Police are looking for a mid- to late-2000 Lincoln Town Car that's silver or light beige and has dark tinted rear passenger windows. The car would have damage to the front of the car on the driver's side and the sideview mirror was found at the scene of the crash. Police have released images of the vehicle they are looking for.

The woman who was hit was transported to a Boston hospital with serious injuries and remains hospitalized, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash or the car should contact State Police-South Boston at 617-740-7710.
