Man allegedly offered teen money for sex at Shopper's World

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Police have arrested a man they say offered a teen money for sex near Shopper's World in Framingham.

According to police, the suspect was driving a vehicle with Texas license plates when the incident happened Monday afternoon.

FOX25 has learned that the man, 25-year-old Robert Toney from Texas, allegedly offered a 14-year-old money for sex and then followed her in the area of Olive Garden.

A witness who saw what happened called 911 and reported it as an attempted abduction.

Toney was arrested by an officer in Sherborn, the next town over, around 7 p.m. when the officer recognized the suspect's car and Texas license plate.

Framingham police tell FOX25 they are working with officers in Newton to see if Toney could be connected to similar cases of child enticement in that city.

Toney has been charged with enticing a person under 16. He was held without bail.

FOX25's Crystal Haynes was in court Tuesday and will have updates on the case on FOX25 News beginning at 4 p.m.
