Lawrence Police are investigating after a house party brawl sent two people to the hospital with gun shot wounds.
On Saturday night, officers reponded to reports of shots fired and a possible fight on Lexington Street.
When the officers arrived shortly after midnight, they saw a large crowd outside near the intersection of Buswell Street, where a house party had just wrapped up.
According to police, a fight that broke out in the basement spilled out on the street.
As officers attempted to disperse the crowd, they learned that two 18-year-olds were taken to local hospitals with gunshot wounds.
One male was taken to Lawrence General Hospital and the other male was taken to Holy Family in Methuen.
Both men suffered non-life threatening injuries from the gun shots.
Police say the incident is not believed to be a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing.
