BROCKTON, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m.
Brockton Police received a ShotSpotter notification that shots were fired at 94 Belmont Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound, and he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation is active and ongoing.

On Wednesday afternoon, the man who was killed was identified as Manuel Duarte of Brockton.
At this point, it is not believed to be a random act of kindness.
