DA: Woman dead following physical argument with boyfriend

WEBSTER, Mass. — A woman is dead after an argument with her boyfriend turned physical Sunday morning in Webster, said the district attorney's office.

The incident happened on Harris Street around 8:45 a.m. The DA said 43-year-old Brenda Hatheway and 51-year-old Joseph Kenadek were in a loud argument that spilled into the street and then became physical. Neighbors told Boston 25 News they heard her screams.

When police arrived, Hatheway was found unresponsive in the street. She was taken to Hubbard Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Hatheway's daughter went missing in 2014 and hasn't been found since. Boston 25 News interviewed her in 2015 about her daughter, Sabrina Hatheway.

Sabrina is still missing; at the time, police said they were looking at a possible connection between Sabrina's abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Kevin Crozier, and the house police say he set on fire.

"She was a good kid. She was a really good kid," Brenda told Boston 25 News.

Kenadek has been charged with aggravated assault and battery, and domestic assault and battery. He is being held on $500,000 bail and will be arraigned tomorrow in Dudley District Court.
