Police investigating death of 5-year-old New Hampshire boy

DOVER, N.H. — An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday to try to find out how a 5-year-old boy from Dover, New Hampshire died.

Police were called to the family's home on Summer Street just after 9 a.m. Saturday after family members found him unresponsive.

Police said they believe it's a tragic, untimely death and don't think criminal charges will follow.

Lieutenant Brant Dolleman told Boston 25 News that it's a tragic case for his officers to investigate.

"Ultimately the people who are really hurting today are the friends and family of this little boy, and our heart really goes out to them," Dolleman said. "And we're just devastated by their loss at this point."

Police said the Division for Children, Youth and Families is not involved in this case.
