Police arrest man in connection to delivery driver stabbing in Medford

Medford Police have arrested a man for assaulting a restaurant delivery driver.

Last Saturday, a 44-year-old delivery driver from a local restaurant was robbed and stabbed in Medford, according to Medford Police.

On Friday, police announced they arrested 18-year-old Nicholas Davis and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities said they received a call from the driver around 8:10 p.m. that he had been robbed and stabbed from behind in the area of Washington Street.

The victim was taken to a Boston area hospital for emergency surgery. Police say he is still in the hospital recovering.

"There's never really any issues around here," Medford native Hilary Dudley said. "It's a really quiet area. There's a lot of children that live in this area."

Davis will be arraigned in Somerville District Court on Tuesday.
