Police: 2 dead, 2 in critical condition after collision

HOLYOKE, Mass. — Police say a crash in western Massachusetts has left two dead and two others seriously injured.

Lt. Michael McCoy says a driver ran a stop sign in Holyoke and broad-sided a vehicle carrying five people at around 4 a.m. Friday.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign sustained minor injuries as well as a passenger in the other vehicle.

Two are in critical condition at a Springfield hospital.

McCoy says the crash is under investigation and that charges are possible. He says there is no indication that alcohol contributed to the crash.

The victims have not been identified.
