NEW BRAINTREE, Mass. -- A small plane landed short of the runway in New Braintree and now the NTSB is investigating the cause.
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m., shortly after skydiver Casey Tylek made his jump.
Tylek said he had no idea something was wrong at the time, but he's glad the three people on the plane were uninjured.
"I was mostly concerned about my father, when I first arrived at the airfield I couldn’t locate the plane," he said. "Within 20 seconds of the landing, somebody had already dialed 911 from nearby."
As the plane crash landed, a small fire began but was quickly extinguished by first responders.

Tylek said he's skydived hundreds of times, but this is one jump he'll never forget.
"I've never been a part of something that resulted in a fire on a plane," he said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the NTSB and local police.
