Potential buyer crashes pickup truck into pole on busy Halifax road

HALIFAX, Mass. — A pickup truck being driven by a potential buyer crashed in a telephone pole Tuesday, snarling traffic on a busy road in Halifax Police Chief Joao Chaves told Boston 25 News.

The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. in the area of 597 Plymouth Street (Route 106), in front of Davis Automotive Center.

Chaves said the driver swerved to avoid a pothole, lost control and struck a utility pole. National Grid replaced the pole.

Chaves said the driver and a second man in the truck refused medical treatment.

Halifax Fire Chief Jason Viveiros told Boston 25 News he believed the passenger owned the dealership selling the truck.

Police didn’t cite the driver. The truck was towed from the scene.
