Police: 12-year-old hit by car while riding his bike in Haverhill

HAVERHILL, Mass. — A 12-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in Haverhill on Friday afternoon.

The Haverhill Fire Chief told Boston 25 News a call came in at 1:30 p.m. for a pedestrian hit by a car. Police say the boy was riding his bike on Farrwood Drive when he was hit by a Buick Encore.

The boy was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with serious injuries and flown to Tufts Medical Center for treatment.

Officials say the car stayed on scene. No criminal charges have been filed.

The crash is under investigation.
