Person struck, killed by commuter rail in Waltham

WALTHAM, Mass. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a commuter train Tuesday morning.

The train was stopped near Main and Linden streets just after 9 a.m., near the Route 20 overpass.

Transit Police say a 35-year-old man was hit by the train near Massasoit Street and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Foul play is not expected.

Transit officials are investigating.
