Three separate shootings in Dorchester leave two people injured

BOSTON — Two people sustained serious injuries in separate shootings in Dorchester on Saturday.

One person was shot at Emrose Terrace just after 2 p.m., according to local police. That victim was hospitalized at Boston Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.

"The neighborhood is safe for me, nothing really goes on, but it’s like last year this happened too, around the same time," said Eddy Batista, a resident of the area.

On the same dead-end street in October of 2018, 22-year-old Gabriel Rodriguez was shot and killed.

Nearly five hours later, just a mile and a half away from the Emrose Terrace incident, another shooting was reported on Howland Street.

The victim, who was located a few streets away on Crawford Street, is expected to survive.

At the end of the night, police blocked off a crime scene on Kingsdale Road after a reported shooting and bullet casings were discovered in the area. While no one was hurt, Boston Police found a car that had crashed into a tree.

Police have not released details on any potential suspects.
