BOSTON — Police are investigating an incident at Joe Moakley Park in South Boston after a person was found "suffering trauma" in a parking lot, according to Boston police.
Police were called around 6:44 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a person suffering traumatic injuries in the parking lot behind the South Boston Neighborhood House, also known as "The Ollie," on Columbia Road.
That person was taken to a local hospital with "unknown injuries," police said. Police later told Boston 25 News th person is expected to survive. They did not release any additional information.
It's unclear what the nature of the investigation is.
Police were seen taping off much of Moakley Park, including the baseball fields that are located next to the Ollie's parking lot.
