PD: Leominster man arrested for attacking school bus with machete, pipe

LEOMINSTER, Mass. — A Leominster man has been arrested for allegedly hitting a school bus with a pipe and machete, according to police.

On Tuesday, Leominster police say a bus driver was picking up students when 44-year-old Ricardo Morales came up to the bus holding a metal pipe and a machete in the air. Police say Morales was upset because the bus driver was using the driveway to pick up the children.

Morales allegedly hit the van two times with the pipe on the driver side window and the hood. He then hit the passenger compartment with the machete before walking away.

A neighbor whose son was waiting for the school bus when the incident happened tells Boston 25 News Reporter Litsa Pappas the bus is a small special needs bus that turns around in the driveway because it a busy street.

Witnesses told police Morales goes by "Tattoo" and lives in a basement apartment on Mechanic Street. Boston 25's Litsa Pappas spoke with the property manager of that Mechanic Street building who says Morales was squatting and snuck into the basement.
