One of State Police’s Most Wanted Fugitives caught in Maine

CARTHAGE, Maine — On Tuesday, 34-year-old Derell Guy was arrested in Carthage, Maine. Guy had been on the run for months.

He was wanted for murder for the shooting death of 25-year-old Bryan Omar Mendez in Lynn on January 4. Guy was placed on the Mass. State Police’s Most Wanted Fugitive list earlier this month and tips began pouring in.

Media-generated tips led investigators to the small town of Wilton, Maine, but Guy fled before he could be taken into custody.
