Man charged in road rage stabbing in Norton held without bail

NORTON, Mass. — The man charged with stabbing another man in an apparent road rage incident in Norton on Thursday is being held without bail pending a dangerous hearing.

Alfred Pond of Attleboro appeared in court on Friday.

Prosecutors say Pond admitted to police to the road rage and stabbing and even lead them to the knife used in the attack.

They did not indicate what lead to the road rage.

According to police, a 911 call came in at around 3:30 p.m. from a person who said they had just been stabbed following a road rage incident on Plain Street in Norton.

At the scene, officers found the victim bleeding from the chest. He was immediately transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

The victim told police he and another man had gotten involved in a road rage incident that started in Easton and ended in Norton. According to the victim, it was in Norton that they both stopped their cars and the suspect stabbed him in the chest before fleeing.
