Officer finds loaded gun after pulling driver over for violation

LOWELL, Mass. — During a traffic stop Monday morning, Lowell police arrested a 34-year-old for having a loaded handgun in his car.

The officer found the handgun under the driver's seat after pulling over Felix Ortiz-Ayala for improperly passing two cars on Middlesex and Elliott Street. Ortiz-Ayala was also driving with a suspended license.

He was arrested for unlawful carry of a firearm and other firearm-related charges.
