Odin Lloyd's family files wrongful death suit against Aaron Hernandez

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The family of Odin Lloyd has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Aaron Hernandez, who has been criminally charged with his death, according to an article from the Fall River Herald News.

According to documents filed this week in New Bedford Superior Court, the family didn't specify how much they were seeking in damages, though the complaint said the amount most likely exceeds the value of Hernandez's North Attleboro home, which has been appraised at $1.25 million, the article said.

In addition to outlining the criminal case against Hernandez, the filing claims that the former New England Patriots tight end "maliciously, willfully, wantonly, recklessly or by gross negligence caused Odin Lloyd to suffer personal injuries that directly resulted in his death."

Hernandez is currently in jail at the Bristol County House of Correction in North Dartmouth. Lloyd died after being shot multiple times on June 17.
