No charges for 30-year-old alleged sexual misconduct incident at Phillips Exeter

EXETER, N.H. — The Exeter Police Department says an alleged sexual misconduct incident may have happened involving a teacher at Phillips Exeter Academy, but criminal charges will not be filed.

In release, the police department says it has concluded an investigation and found that the statute of limitations has expired on the incident and therefore criminal charges can’t be filed.

“The investigation has determined that an alleged incident occurred more than three decades ago,” the release states.

According to police, the accused teacher no longer works at Phillips Exeter Academy.

Police say the department is investigation other allegations and the school is cooperating.
