NH community at odds over KKK song in high school class

DOVER, N.H. — Parents and students met with school administrators in Dover, New Hampshire Monday night after an incident involving a song about the KKK.

The song was part of an 11th grade history class about the Civil War Reconstruction period and was sung to the tune of jingle bells.

Many at the school board meeting argued the teacher should be fired, saying the assignment made light of a serious topic.

Others spoke in favor of the teacher, who is now on administrative leave.

So far no decision has been made.
