New Hampshire lawmakers push restrictions on plastic straws

CONCORD, N.H. — The New Hampshire house of representatives has passed a bill to regulate the use of plastic straws.

The Democratic-led house supported the bill, which prohibits food service businesses from providing single-use straws unless specifically asked.

Lawmakers said good alternatives are straws made from paper, sugar cane, wood or even pasta.

Health Care facilities would be exempt.
