“How can someone who had everything throw it all away,” wrote Netflix in a Twitter post debuting the trailer for their new series about former New England Patriots Tight End and convicted killer, Aaron Hernandez.

The Netflix original documentary series is titled Killer Inside: The mind of Aaron Hernandez.

Hernandez was acquitted of killing two men in the South End in 2012.

He was convicted in the killing of Odin Lloyd and was serving a life sentence when he was found hanged in his prison cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley.

After his death, Massachusetts’ high court vacated Hernandez’s conviction.

In 2017, Boston University researchers revealed that Hernandez had “the most severe case” of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy they had ever seen in a person his age.
Research has shown the degenerative brain disease is associated with aggressiveness, depression, memory loss, and other cognitive problems.
Hernandez’s family filed a lawsuit against the New England Patriots and the NFL over his case of CTE.
