WEBSTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Bartlett school teacher was arrested and charged with three counts of statutory rape of a student.

The 40-year-old music teacher had been working at the Bartlett Junior Senior High School since August of 1998. The charges stem from an investigation started by Webster Police. Jeffrey M. Flynn, 40, of Palmer, was arrested while being interviewed by police Wednesday afternoon.

Flynn allegedly had a relationship with a female student at the high school, officials say. A teacher noticed that Flynn spent a lot of time with the student and informed the administration.

There was a lot of texting between Flynn and the student, according to officials. The student eventually admitted that she had a sexual relationship with Flynn in Palmer during an interview with police.

The Telegram and Gazette reported that the Webster School Superintendent Barbara Malkas was unable to comment as it is in ongoing investigation. When asked if Flynn was placed on paid or unpaid administrative leave, Malkas told the Gazette that he is not working or getting paid since it is summer break.

Flynn was arraigned Thursday and held on $10,000 bail. He is due back in court next month.
