BOURNE, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police responded to a serious crash in Bourne Sunday afternoon.
State police say the crash happened just after 4 p.m. Sunday. Police say a freightliner was driving north on Route 28 when it rear-ended an SUV. Police say another car was also involved.

A 15-year-old girl, who was in the SUV, was taken by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital with life threatening injuries. She was transferred to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
The 61-year-old woman, identified as Deborah Carney, of Middleborough, was taken to Toby Hospital where she was declared dead.
Three other occupants were taken to Falmouth Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
