Mother carrying infant hit by moped in Brookline

BROOKLINE, Mass. — A mother and her infant were taken to a hospital after being hit by a moped in Brookline, according to police.

Officers were called to Harvard Street just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A woman said she was trying to cross the street while carrying her infant. When she stepped onto the street and into a bike lane, the front of a moped hit her, causing her to fall to the ground.

The victim told police she absorbed the impact of the fall to protect her infant from being injured. She reported pain to her entire left side. Her current condition is unknown.
