NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - One man is dead and another faces a murder charge after a weekend stabbing in New Bedford.

Authorities say they received a 911 call about a stabbing during an altercation inside a home just after midnight Sunday.

First responders found 27-year-old Steven Doyle suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

Doyle was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Bristol district attorney's office says accounts from several witnesses led investigators to look for 55-year-old William Macomber.

Macomber was located Sunday morning and arrested.

His arraignment is scheduled for Monday. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.
