Massachusetts man dies after suffering medical condition on Cedar Brook Trail in Lincoln, NH

LINCOLN, NH — A Massachusetts man has died after suffering a medical condition while hiking on Cedar Brook Trail in Lincoln, New Hampshire.

Officers of the NH Fish and Game Conservation were notified by an emergency beacon due to bad cell service on the trail.

A rescue team which consisted of conservation officers and volunteers from Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team responded to the trail which was located off the Kancamagus Highway.

The first crew arrived to the scene around 1:25 p.m., but fellow hikers passing by who tried to save the man were unsuccessful.

The deceased hiker was carried 2 miles to the trailhead where they were met by a State of NH Medical Examiner at 3:45 p.m.

The hiker was identified as a 57-year-old male from Massachusetts.

The name of the victim is being withheld until all of the family can be notified.
