• Man charged with sexual assault on college campus

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (AP) - A man arrested in connection with a reported sexual assault on a Massachusetts college campus has pleaded not guilty.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that 21-year-old Khyrin McCarthy was arrested in Boston last Thursday in connection with an assault at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams.

McCarthy, of Boston, pleaded not guilty Friday.

Campus Police Chief Daniel Colonno said in an email to the college community that a man entered an unlocked townhouse on campus on Oct. 26, went into an upstairs bedroom and fondled the victim. Police say the man fled when the victim woke up.

Colonno told students at a Nov. 4 safety meeting that the suspect was not a member of the campus community.

No attorney was listed for McCarthy in court records.
