• Court continues fetal remains disposal case without finding

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts woman who was charged with disposing of her newborn's remains in a garbage bag has had her case continued without finding.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that 37-year-old Jennifer Rheaume was charged with disinterring a body and concealing an out-of-wedlock fetal death. Her case has been continued for one year, and she was ordered to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

Police arrested Rheaume and her boyfriend in June after officers found a bag containing the remains in Worcester.

Authorities say Rheaume and her boyfriend hid the remains behind his mother's home.

Her lawyer called it a "sad" situation.

Her boyfriend was also charged in the case but the status of his case was not clear.
