A children's boating instructor was arrested on child pornography charges after police executed a search warrant in Mashpee, police say.
Barnstable Police say they executed the warrant on Wampanoag Drive in Mashpee Wednesday after an investigation that spanned several months, focusing on a computer at the address that was distributing child pornography.
Police then arrested 66-year-old Mashpee native Ronald Walsh, after the search found at least one computer that had the same file sharing software that was being used to distribute the child pornography.
Several devices were seized during the search, and police are examining them as the investigation continues.
Police say Walsh is a children's boating instructor for Boat Safe Massachusetts, along with several Cape Cod yacht clubs.
He was taken into custody and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, and bail was set at $5,000 cash.
Walsh was taken to Falmouth District Court, and was arraigned and then released on personal recognizance.
