Marijuana, knife found during search of Winchendon school

WINCHENDON, Mass. — A police search of Murdock Middle High School on Monday turned up a small amount of marijuana and a double edged knife, according to Winchendon Police Lieutenant Kevin Wolski.

Wolski said the K9 sniff, which is in accordance with school policy, lasted about thirty minutes and included a sweep of hallways, bathrooms and the student parking area.

Students were kept in their classrooms during the search.

Police are investigating how the marijuana and knife got into the school.

Massachusetts State Police and other local police departments assisted Winchendon Police Department with the search.
