MANCHESTER, N.H. - A woman in New Hampshire told police she was robbed by an armed man while walking home from the market.

Manchester Police were flagged down by several people reporting an armed robbery in the area of 331 Spruce Street just before 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The victim told police she was walking down Spruce Street on her way home when she noticed a man walking behind her.

When she looked back, the man allegedly told her, "Don't worry, I'm not following you". The woman says she laughed it off and kept walking.

The man, who told her not to worry, then strikes her in the back of the head, knocking her onto the ground.

He ripped off the pocketbook the victim had strapped across her chest and started walking away. When the woman began to scream for help, she says the man came back toward her, armed with a gun which he then pulled back the slide and pointed it at her.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 5'5" to 5'7" tall, with clean-cut hair, in his 30's with a thin build and was wearing black shorts and a black shirt. The handgun is described as being black and seems to be a semi-automatic weapon, similar to a Glock.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Manchester Police at 603-668-8711.
