BOSTON — A man in his 40s was hit and seriously injured while walking along Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury on Wednesday night.
Police said the man was hit near the intersection with Washington Street.

He was taken to an area hospital. His condition and the extent of his injuries were unknown Thursday morning.
The driver remained on scene, police said.

A Toyota sedan with a shattered windshield was parked at the accident scene. Investigators cordoned off a large area with yellow police tape.
