Man indicted for strangling woman found dead in Lake Quinsigamond

WORCESTER, Mass. — A Shrewsbury man has been charged with murder in the death of a 38-year-old woman this summer.

Joseph Dalrymple, 33, was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday in the death of Marlene Bleau, who was found face-down in Lake Quinsigamond on July 28.

Investigators initially said Bleau may have drowned, but now say that's not the case. A bone in Bleau's neck was fractured, leading investigators to conclude she was likely strangled -- causing trauma to the back of her neck and her forehead.

Dalrymple was reportedly the last person seen with Bleau the night before she was found dead.
