Man hit and killed while standing beside his car on NH turnpike

NASHUA, N.H. — A man was hit and killed on the side of the highway while standing beside his broken down car in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday night.

Osman Konda, 53, from Nashua, was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:45 p.m. Sarah E. Shaw was driving northbound on the Everett Turnpike when she veered off and hit Konda.

Shaw, 36, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The two right-hand lanes on the turnpike were closed for about four hours while the State Police CAR team was at the scene.
