MARION, Mass. — A man is expected to survive after being stabbed by a family member in Marion, Marion Police Lieutenant Richard Nighelli told Boston 25 News.

Nighelli said police received a call around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday for a fight between two family members at a home on Wareham Road. The dispatcher was able to determine a knife was possibly used during the altercation.

Officers arrived at the home and found a man bleeding from the arm. His injuries were consistent with a knife wound, according to Nighelli.

The officers provided medical aid to the victim until Marion EMS arrived and transported him to Tobey Hospital for further treatment.

The officers then located and arrested the unnamed suspect.

The suspect was arraigned Thursday in Wareham District Court on charges of assaulting and battery on a family member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
